Faruq Ahmadi, a student and media activist hailing from Oshnaviyeh in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, is facing serious threats of assassination from the Intelligence Ministry and Intelligence department of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The ominous warnings come as a response to his prominent media activities and his role in managing a popular Instagram page with a sizable following.
 

According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, In recent days, Faruq Ahmadi, a 24-year-old political and media activist hailing from Oshnaviyeh and currently residing in Erbil (Hawler), the capital of the Kurdistan Regional Government, has faced life-threatening threats from two government agencies. These agencies include the Ministry of Intelligence and the Intelligence Department of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, both operating in his hometown, Oshnaviyeh.
 

Faruq Ahmadi, in addition to creating media content, is currently a student in the field of media and communication at Salahaddin University-Erbil.
 

Hengaw has been informed that recently several relatives of Faruq Ahmadi in Oshnaviyeh were summoned to government institutions and received strong warnings about the "consequences of his media activities." These two security institutions have accused Faruq (Shaho) Ahmadi of inciting the people of Oshnaviyeh during the nationwide protests.
 

It is worth mentioning that Faruq Ahmadi, the manager of the Instagram page "Lawany Shno" (Youths of Oshnavieh), has experienced harassment from Iranian government institutions, initially with the promise of receiving money in exchange for cooperation. Recently, he has been openly threatened and warned by the government institutions of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Faruq Ahmadi, along with his family members who are political activists, left his hometown in 2012 due to pressure from Iranian government institutions. Since then, he has continued his studies and activities in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
