Aso Alaeddini detained by Intelligence Department, whereabouts unknown

Intelligence Department forces arrested Aso Alaeddini, a 42-year-old Kurdish man from Saqez, and transferred him to an undisclosed location. More than a week later, his family remains without information about his whereabouts, the reason for his arrest, or any charges against him.

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Alaeddini was arrested without a warrant on September 3, 2026. He is married, a father of two, from the village of Hawi, and resides in Saqez.

Sources familiar with the case said his family and relatives have repeatedly approached security agencies and the Saqez prosecutor’s office seeking information, but authorities have refused to provide clear answers about the agency responsible for his detention or his current status.
