Writer and director Navid Mihandoost arrested to serve his prison sentence

Navid Mihandoost, writer, director, and cinema editor, has been arrested and transferred to Evin Prison in Tehran to serve his three-year prison sentence.
 

According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Sunday, August 20, 2023, Navid Mihandoost, a director and writer living in Tehran, who was previously sentenced to three years in prison, was arrested and transferred to Evin prison to serve his sentence.
 

In March 2019, this director was sentenced by Branch 28 of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Court of Tehran, headed by Judge Mohammad Reza Amozad, to 3 years in prison on the charge of "action against security" and to 6 months in prison on the charge of "propaganda activity against the Islamic Republic of Iran", which according to the law Consolidating of the sentences, the severest punishment, which is three years of imprisonment, will be applicable.
 

Navid Mihandoost was transferred to Ward 209 of Evin prison on December 4, 2019, known as the detention center of the Ministry of Intelligence, and was finally released on bail until the end of the proceedings.

Navid Mihandoost, in addition to writing and directing several TV series, also directed the movie "whatever god wills" in 2009.
