Hengaw: Tuesday, September 12, 2023.

Three workers, namely Qadir Fateh Elahi, Omid Toti, and Ahmad Mozhesh, hailing from the city of Bukan, were arrested by government forces and subsequently transferred to undisclosed locations. This move is an attempt to exert pressure on market owners and deter their participation in the strikes.

As per a report obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Sunday, September 10, 2023, government forces detained Qadir Fateh Elahi, Omid Toti, and 72-year-old Ahmed Mozhesh, all residents of Bukan.

Reliable sources indicate that government forces conducted raids on the residences of Qadir Fateh Elahi and Ahmad Mozhesh, effecting the arrests without presenting any legal documentation. Furthermore, they confiscated the mobile phones of all members of Ahmed Mozhesh’s family.

Hengaw had previously reported on the government’s efforts to exert pressure on workers in Kurdistan's cities ahead of the anniversary of the Jin, Jyan, and Azadi movements, discouraging their participation in strikes.

There is currently no information available regarding the charges leveled against Qadir Fateh Elahi, Omid Toti, and Ahmed Mozhesh following their arrest by government forces. Additionally, their conditions and the whereabouts of their detention remain unknown.
