Ali Sameri Saeedi, a 47-year-old Arab resident of Ahvaz, has been held incommunicado since his arrest earlier this week by Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence. His family and rights groups are raising alarm over his health, as he suffers from a chronic heart condition.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Ali Sameri was arrested on Sunday, August 3, 2025, after being summoned to the Intelligence Office in Ahvaz. Since then, he has not been allowed to contact his family, and his place of detention remains unknown.

Sameri is the father of three children and lives in Ahvaz. Sources close to the family say he has a known heart condition requiring medical supervision. The lack of access to legal counsel, phone calls, or medical care has heightened concerns about his safety and well-being.

Despite repeated efforts by his family to obtain information, authorities have so far refused to provide any details regarding the reasons for his arrest or the charges against him.
