In the days leading up to the anniversary of the 'Jin, Jiyan, Azadi' movement, nine individuals from four different cities in Kurdistan were arrested on the same day by the Iranian security institutions.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Monday, September 11, 2023, the forces of the Intelligence Department of the Islamic Republic raided the residence of Saeid Mohammadi in Baneh, and along with his two children, Arman and Mohammad Mohammadi, this individual was arrested.

According to a reliable source, Saeid Mohammadi and Mohammad Mohammadi were released after a few hours of detention in custody; however, Arman Mohammadi has been transferred to the detention center of the intelligence department in Sanandaj city.

On the same day, 40-year-old Siamak Pirouti and 38-year-old Behzad Wafadar, head of the Bukan Jewelry Union, were arrested by the Iranian Intelligence Department. Earlier, Hengaw had announced the arrest of three other members of this union.

Furthermore, at the same time, Zaniar Maghdour and Fardin Khosh-khahesh were arrested by the Iranian government forces in Oshnavieh and taken to an unknown location.

Previously, Fardin Khosh-khahesh was arrested during the 'Jin, Jiyan, Azadi' movement last year and was later sentenced to five years and three months in prison by the Oshnavieh Criminal Court on charges of "disturbance of public order", "rebellion against officers" and "destruction of property".

Subsequently, on the same day, Hiwa Tatayi, from Saqqez, and Omid Karimi, a 30-year-old resident of Divandereh, were arrested during a raid by government forces at their residences. Hiwa Tatayi was transferred to the detention center of the intelligence department in Sanandaj, and there is no information about Omid Karimi's whereabouts or his condition of detention.

In the days prior to the anniversary of the 'Jin, Jiyan, Azadi' movement, the pressure of the government institutions on Kurdish citizens increased sharply, and in addition to the arrest of dozens of people in the cities of Kurdistan, significant government repressive forces were sent from the central cities of Iran to the cities of Kurdistan.
