Omid Asadi and Majid Hamidi, Kurdish labor rights activists from Sanandaj, were detained by government forces. Both activists had previously been summoned and arrested due to their activist endeavors.

According to reports received by the Hengaw organization for Human Rights, on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, Majid Hamidi, a labor rights activist from Sanandaj, was detained at his shop located on Cyrus Street in Sanandaj during a raid by government forces.

Majid Hamidi was a member of the "Coordination Committee to support building labor Unions" was targeted and attacked by an unknown armed individuals in October 2007 because of his activities in civil organizations and in results requires special medical care. His persistent detention poses a serious threat to his well-being.

Majid Hamidi had previously been summoned by the judicial and security apparatus of the Islamic Republic of Iran due to his civil and labor activities.

Omid Asadi, the other labor rights activist from Sanandaj was detained on Sunday, September 10th, 2023, during a raid by government forces at his workplace.

Omid Asadi was once acquitted previously during the trial of his previous case in May 2022, where he was charged with "collaboration with one of the Kurdish opposition parties." Subsequently, he was banned from political and social activities and had given a written consent.

Mr. Asadi was summoned and detained on Thursday, Farvardin March 23, 2022, after participating in the Nowruz celebrations in the Children's Park in Sanandaj, by the intelligence forces of Islamic republic Revolutionary Guards. He was released temporarily on bail of 600 million Tomans until the completion of the legal proceedings.

The exact charges against Omid Asadi and Majid Hamidi are currently unknown, and the conditions and location of their detention remain undisclosed.
