Four members of the Teachers Association board in Bushehr province, namely Mahmoud Malaki, Mohsen Omrani, Abdolreza Amanifard, and Asghar Hajeb, have received sentences totaling 4 years and 8 months in prison from the judicial authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
 

According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the recent verdicts for these teachers are as follows: Mahmoud Malaki and Mohsen Omrani each received two-year prison sentences, while Abdolreza Amanifard and Asghar Hajeb were sentenced to four months of imprisonment.
 

Furthermore, the assets of these four members of the Teachers Association in Bushehr have been confiscated by the government. Additionally, Mahmoud Malaki and Mohsen Omrani will be prohibited from working in educational positions within academic environments for a three-year period.
 

It is important to note that these four individuals were summoned to court in February 2023 and faced charges including “threats against domestic security,” “disruption of public order,” and “defiance against authorities on duty.”
 

Mahmoud Malaki, Abdolreza Amanifard, Asghar Hajeb, and Mohsen Omrani were detained by security forces in Bushehr on May 1st, 2022, and were temporarily released later that month after posting bail, pending the completion of their legal proceedings. Mahmoud Malaki had previously been sentenced to four months of disciplinary imprisonment and permanent separation from service during the “Women, Life, Freedom” (Jin, Jian, Azadi) movement.
