Hemn Shamamizade, from Sardasht, on his way to seek asylum in Europe on foot, lost his life in the dense forests between Belarus and Poland due to severe cold and extreme physical weakness.
According to reports received by the Hengaw organization for Human Rights, on Thursday, October 12th, 2023, Hemn Shamamizade, a 31-year-old asylum seeker from Sardasht, lost his life in the forests between Belarus and Poland.
A group of young asylum seekers with Hemn Shamamizade reported that that the Polish and Belarusian police refrained from providing any assistance or taking him to medical facilities despite his pleas for help.
Hengaw has been informed that Hemn Shamamizade had a fractured leg prior to his death.
