Iqbal Majidi, an environmental activist hailing from Sanandaj, was apprehended by the Intelligence Department's forces within the city and subsequently moved to an undisclosed location.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Saturday, October 14, 2023, Iqbal Majidi, a resident of Sanandaj and an environmental activist, was taken into custody.
The intelligence department's forces detained Iqbal Majidi at his shop situated on Ghafoor Street in Sanandaj. Following the arrest of this environmental activist, these forces conducted a search of both his residence and shop, according to a reliable source.
This source additionally added that despite Iqbal Majidi's preexisting heart condition, a judge has imposed a 20-day temporary detention period, causing distress among his family and relatives.
Iqbal Majidi had previously been arrested by the security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Sanandaj in 2021, only to be released after a period of time.
