Nasser Sargaran, a lawyer and university lecturer who happens to be visually impaired, was apprehended last week by the Intelligence Department of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Saqqez. Subsequently, he was transferred to one of the detention centers in Sanandaj.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Wednesday, October 11,  2023, Nasser Sargaran, a lawyer affiliated with the Saqqez judiciary, was taken into custody by the Intelligence Department's forces in the city.

Following his detention by intelligence forces in Saqqez, this lawyer was moved to the intelligence department's detention center in Sanandaj, according to an informed source.

It is worth noting that in addition to his legal profession, Nasser Sargaran has a history of involvement in the media and advocacy for the rights of individuals with disabilities.
