Mehdi Qanbari, a graduate student at Kharazmi University, and another young man named Nima Khaldian were apprehended by security forces in Qorveh.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, 31-year-old resident Mehdi Qanbari was taken into custody by security forces on a street in Qorveh on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.
In a related incident, on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, Nima Khaldian from Qorveh was arrested during a security forces raid. His custodial status has remained undisclosed for the past fifteen days.
Following their arrest, Mehdi Qanbari and Nima Khaldian were transferred to a detention center operated by a security institution in Sanandaj.
As of the time of this report, the reasons for the arrest of these two individuals and the charges brought against them remain unknown.
