Last week, the death sentences of six prisoners incarcerated in Ghezel Hesar prison in Karaj were simultaneously carried out. These individuals had previously been sentenced to death on charges of "homicide."
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, in the early hours of Wednesday, October 18, 2023, the death sentences of at least six prisoners in Unit 3 (formerly Rajaeeshahr), most of whom were convicted of intentional homicide, were executed in Ghezel Hesar prison in Karaj.
Hengaw is currently investigating the identities and further details of these six prisoners.
Previously, Hengaw had reported on the execution of three inmates: Mohammad Behzadi from Kerman, Farshad Shahbazi from Tehran, and another prisoner named Hojat Bagrezaei. These individuals received death sentences on charges related to drug crimes.
As of the time of reporting this news, there have been no official announcements regarding the execution of these prisoners in government media, particularly those associated with the judiciary.
