Execution of At Least Four Prisoners in Prisons Across Birjand, Karaj, and Tehran

The death sentences of at least four prisoners, including a Baloch prisoner named Abdul Basir Mohammadani, have been carried out in prisons located in Birjand, South Khorasan province, Ghezel Hesar in Karaj, and one of the penitentiaries in Tehran. The identities of the other three prisoners have not yet been confirmed.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, in the early hours of Thursday, October 26, 2023, Abdul Basir Mohammadani, a 30-year-old resident of Zahedan, was executed in Birjand Central Prison.

According to the Haalvsh news series, this prisoner had been arrested four years ago on charges related to drug crimes, subsequently receiving a death sentence through the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

On the morning of Wednesday, October 25, 2023, the death sentences of two prisoners incarcerated in Ghezel Hesar prison in Karaj were carried out. One of these prisoners had been arrested five years ago on charges of murdering two women in the context of "financial disputes," while the other was arrested for the intentional murder of a woman two years ago.

Additionally, over the past several days, the death sentence of a young prisoner, previously convicted of intentional murder, was executed in one of Tehran's prisons. The "Etmad Online" website reported that this prisoner had been detained for the murder of a girl he was in love with due to a perceived "involvement with another man." Subsequently, a death sentence was pronounced by Branch 11 of the Criminal Court in Tehran province and was implemented after failing to secure parental consent.
