Two citizens protesting against the government killing of Armita Garavand in Dehloran and Abdanan cities of Ilam province were arrested by the security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran. One of the protestors, named Ramin Valinejad, has previously been arrested and sentenced due to his activities.
According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on the evening of Saturday, October 28, 2023, Ramin Valinejad, from Dehloran, was arrested by the security forces in this city.
According to aware sources, Ramin Valinejad has been arrested for "publishing a critical post about Armita Garavand" on Instagram.
This citizen was arrested by the security forces in 2017 and 2019 and was tried by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Also, on Saturday, a protesting citizen, identified as Hamid Hemmati, was arrested by Abdanan Central Police Station officers in this city. After the news of Armita Garavand's death was published, he started shouting slogans in one of the streets of Abdanan.
