Turkish civil activist Milad Balsini re-arrested after court summons

Milad Balsini, a Turkish civil activist from Tabriz, was re-arrested by Intelligence Department forces after appearing before Branch 15 of the Tabriz Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office and transferred to an undisclosed location.

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Balsini was arrested on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, on the prosecutor’s office premises immediately after an interrogation session.

He had been summoned to present his defense under a notice issued on August 9. Balsini has previously faced arrest and summonses by Iranian security and judicial authorities.

Authorities have not disclosed his whereabouts, health condition, or the charges against him in connection with his latest arrest.
