Mitra Ghasemi, a resident of Tehran, was apprehended last week at Armita Garavand's burial ceremony, and her custodial status remains unknown.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, 41-year-old Mitra Ghasemi, an engineer from Tehran, was taken into custody by security authorities last week.
An informed source has disclosed that after Mitra Ghasemi's arrest at Bahasht Zahra Cemetery, she was subsequently transferred to Gharchak Varamin Prison.
Since her arrest, Ms. Ghasemi has managed to have two brief phone calls with her family. Furthermore, authorities are obstructing legal proceedings for her temporary release.
On Sunday, October 29, 2033, during the burial ceremony of Armita Garavand at Bahasht Zahra, Mitra Ghasemi was detained.
In a previous report, Hengaw verified the identities of 17 detainees during Armita Garavand's burial ceremony and reported that they had been transferred to Evin and Gharchak Varamin prisons.
