Eight prisoners faced execution at Ghezel Hesar prison in Karaj. These prisoners were sentenced to death on charges of drug related crimes, premeditated murder, and armed robbery.
According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, in the early hours of November 8, 2023, the death sentences of a prisoner from Kohdasht, Lorestan, Rasul Taimuri, along with another inmate named Vali, on charges related to drug crimes, were carried out within the confines of Ghezel Hesar prison. Additionally, five other prisoners with charges of premeditated murder were executed, and the identities of four have been verified: Sayed Payman Musa, Bahman Fathullazada, Mohammad Vasghi, and Mostafa Ziayi.
Hengaw is investigating to confirm the identities of the two other executed prisoners on charges of premeditated murder and armed robbery.
Notably, this development has yet to be announced in government-affiliated media outlets, particularly those closely aligned with the judiciary, at the time of composing this report.
