Arman Ma'rufi, a Mahabad resident who was arrested during the Women, Life, Freedom movement, was recently apprehended and subsequently relocated to Mahabad prison to begin serving a two-year sentence. He is currently in his second month of incarceration.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Arman Ma'rufi was arrested and transported to the central prison in Mahabad during the middle of September 2023 to fulfill his two-year prison term.

In the last days of August of this year, the Revolutionary Court of Mahabad sentenced Arman Ma'rufi to a two-year imprisonment for his involvement in last year's protests. The specifics of the charges outlined in Mr. Ma'rufi's judicial dossier remain undisclosed as of the composition of this news report.

On Thursday, November 17, 2022, intelligence forces apprehended this political prisoner in Mahabad and subsequently conveyed him to the detention center of the security institution in Urmia.

Following a two-month duration, Arman Ma'rufi was relocated from the intelligence detention center in Urmia to Mahabad Central Prison. Subsequently, after spending four months in detention at this facility, he was eventually released on bail of three billion tomans pending the conclusion of legal proceedings.
