Teacher Hossein Alimoradi, the director of the “Ibrahim Khalilullah” School of Religious Sciences in Sanandaj, has been sentenced to sixteen months in prison by the special clerical court of Hamadan. This follows a prior two-year prison sentence handed down in early spring by the same court in a separate case.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Mamosta Hossein Alimoradi recently received a 16-month prison term from the Clergy Court of Hamadan. The charges include “actions against the security of the country” and “propaganda against the Islamic Republic of Iran.”

The Kurdish cleric from Sanandaj was summoned to the Clergy Court of Hamadan on November 22 of this year.

In a preceding ruling on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, Teacher Hossein Alimoradi was sentenced to two years of suspended imprisonment by the Clergy Court of Hamadan.

In March 2023, the Clergy Court of Hamadan accused Hossein Alimoradi of “confounding the public mind” and subsequently summoned him for questioning.
