The death sentences of Khaled Rouhi and Sirus Heydari, both Kurdish prisoners, were carried out in Sanandaj Central Prison. These individuals had been sentenced to death on charges of "premeditated murder."
According to reports obtained by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, the death sentence of two prisoners, Khaled Rouhi, hailing from the village of "Cham So" in Sanandaj, and Sirus Heydari, a 60-year-old resident of Sanandaj in Sanandaj Central Prison, was executed.
Earlier, Hengaw reported, citing reliable sources, that Sirus Heydari had been arrested 12 years ago, while Khaled Rouhi was detained four years ago. Both were charged with premeditated murder and subsequently sentenced to death by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
On Monday, December 4, 2023, these prisoners were transferred from the general ward of Sanandaj Central Prison to solitary confinement in preparation for the execution of the death sentence.
