Nima Shahsavari, aged 24, and Hiva Mostafaei, aged 27, both hailing from Paveh, faced a tragic incident when the boat they were on capsized while attempting to cross the English Channel. Disturbingly, there has been no information regarding their well-being for the past five days.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights on Friday, December 15, 2023, Nima Shahsavari and Hiva Mustafaei, residents of the village of Khanqah in Paveh, Kermanshah province, disappeared during a water route accident en route from France to England.

Media outlets have reported that 64 individuals have been successfully rescued from the perilous situation involving the refugee-carrying boat. Regrettably, some of the survivors are said to be in critical condition.

Nima Shahsavari and Hiva Mustafa'i had previously embarked on a journey to Europe through Turkey with the intention of seeking asylum. In their latest attempt to reach England, their boat overturned, leaving their fate shrouded in uncertainty.

Recent reports highlight a concerning migration trend reaching even remote villages. Notably, local medias of Iran documented an instance where 115 people from a village in Darreh Shahr city, Ilam province, departed for Australia, underscoring the widespread impact of migration on communities.
