The death sentences of Karamullah Lorestani and Hossein Papi, both Lor prisoners held at Khorramabad Central Prison, were carried out on charges related to drug crimes.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Saturday, December 23, 2023, Karamullah Lorestani, aged 50, and Hossein Papi, aged 43, both hailing from Borujerd city in Lorestan province, were executed.
According to a reliable source, Hossein Papi was apprehended seven years ago, while Karamullah Lorestani, wanted for three years, was eventually arrested four years ago. The joint case against them resulted in a death sentence for charges related to drug crimes.
On Thursday, December 21, 2023, the prisoners were moved to the solitary cell at Khorramabad prison in preparation for the execution of their death sentences.
Notably, the news of these executions has not been disseminated through government media, especially outlets associated with the judiciary, up to the time of compiling this report.
