Sasan Chamanara, a Kurdish singer from Ilam, previously arrested and convicted during the Woman, Life, Freedom (Jin, Jiyan, Azadi) movement, has been apprehended once again by the security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, intelligence ministry forces conducted a raid on the singer's residence in Ilam, taking him into custody and transporting him to a detention center.

Reliable sources indicate that electronic belongings of Sasan Chamanara were confiscated, and an investigation was conducted at his sister's residence.

As of now, there is no information available regarding the reasons for this arrest or the charges against him.

Sasan Chamanara, the Ilam-based singer, had previously been detained during the Woman, Life, Freedom (Jin, Jiyan, Azadi) movement by the Intelligence Organization of Revolutionary Guard Corps forces. He was subsequently sentenced to 5 years of incarceration by the 29th branch of the Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Ali Mazloum.
