130 Kurdish Porters Killed, Injured in Six Months

HENGAW — During the first half of 2019, a total of 130 Kurdish porters (better known as Kolbar in Kurdish) were killed or injured.

HENGAW — During the first half of 2019, a total of 130 Kurdish porters (better known as Kolbar in Kurdish) were killed or injured.

According to the data center of Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, 39 Kurdish porters were died in the six-month period, and 91 others were injured.
Among the killed porters were three children under 18.

Cause of the casualties:
Direct shooting by Iranian forces: 91 cases (19 killed and 72 injured).
Natural accidents: 31 cases (19 killed and 12 injured).
Landmine: 8 cases (1 killed and 7 injured).

Location:
Western Azerbaijan Province: 76 cases (23 killed and 53 injured).
Kurdistan Province: 43 cases (14 killed and 29 injured).
Kermanshah: 11 cases (2 killed and 9 injured).
