Execution of three Kurdish prisoners in Ilam

Hengaw: The death sentences of three Kurdish prisoners sentenced to death for manslaughter were carried out in the central prison in Ilam.

According to the report received by Hengaw Human Rights Organization, three Kurdish prisoners named Hamid Manouzeri, Mohamad Karimi Nejad and Subhan Shohani were executed on January 19, 2022 in the central prison in Ilam.

An informed source told Hengaw that Hamid Manouzeri, 28, a citizen of Mehran, was sentenced to death two and a half years ago. Subhan Shohani, 27 years old and a citizen of Ilam, was sentenced to death four years ago and Mohamad Karimi, 27 years old and a citizen of Ayvan, seven years ago. All three citizens were sentenced to death for manslaughter by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Citing the registered statistics  of Hengaw, at least 48 Kurdish prisoners were executed in prisons in Iranian Kurdistan in 2021.
