July 2020: 53 arrests of Kurdish citizens registered

Hengaw: In July 2020, at least 53 Kurdish citizens were arrested by forces from the Islamic Republic of Iran, mostly for political reasons or because of cooperation with Kurdish opposition parties.

Based on the registered statistics of Hengaw Human Rights Organization, at least 53 Kurdish citizens, including two women and three minors, were arrested in July 2020 for political, religious or civil law activism or for cooperation with Kurdish opposition parties.

Arrests for civil law activities: 4 people
Arrests for religious activities: 2 people

Kordistan Province: 8 arrests
