Omid Maroof, a citizen from Oshnavyeh, was sentenced to 2 years in prison.

Hengaw: A citizen from Oshnavyeh (Shno) who was arrested in fall 2020, was sentenced to imprisonment by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran.  According to this case, at least 15 citizens of Oshnavyeh have been sentenced to imprisonment by the Revolutionary Court of this city within 10 days.  
 
According to a report received by Hengaw Human Rights Organization, Omid Maroof, a citizen of the village "Aliabad" in Oshnavyeh, was sentenced to 2 years in prison, by Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court of this city, headed by Judge "Rezaei". 
 
According to an informed source, the sentence was issued on charges of "membership in the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran."  The verdict has been officially notified to him on Sunday, march 27, 2022.  
 
Omid Maroof was arrested by the Oshnavyeh Intelligence Service on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, without presenting a warrant at his home, and after nearly 40 days in detention, he was temporarily released on bail till pending trial.  
 
It is worth mentioning that Omid Maroof was deprived of having the right to access a lawyer and also family visits during his detention.
