Faiq Mamqadri 35 and Masoud Farajzadeh, two residents of Mahabad, were critically injured by direct fire from government forces during the most recent protests, and both are now in a coma after being taken to Urmia medical facilities.
 

The two civilians were shot by government forces on Saturday, October 12, 2022, as they were riding in a car near Esteghlal Square in Mahabad, according to a report obtained by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights. They were left with serious injuries.
 

According to a relative of the two injured, they were shot in the stomach, back, and head by government forces. After being taken to Mahabad Hospital, they were transported to "Khomeini" Hospital in Urmia due to their worsening medical condition.
 

The source, who wished to remain anonymous for security reasons, added that the two citizens are housed in the Khomeini province's special care unit and that both of them are in a coma.
