Implementation of Prison Sentences for Six Pre-Detained Kurdish Individuals by Iranian Judiciary

Six Kurdish individuals from Pasveh village in Piranshahr county, West Azerbaijan province (Urmia), identified as Ehsan Golabi, Diyako Ebrahimi (Mohammad), Hiva Mahmoudi, Ismail Tajalla, Aram Khaledinasab, and Alireza Mohammadi Arshad, who had previously been sentenced to imprisonment by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran, were arrested and transferred to Naghadeh Central Prison in West Azerbaijan province (Urmia) for the implementation of their sentences.
According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, Diyako Ebrahimi, 30 years old, Ehsan Golabi, 21 years old, Hiva Mahmoudi, 33 years old, Ismail Tajalla, 23 years old, Aram Khalidinasab, 24 years old, and Alireza Mohammadi Arshad, 23 years old, were arrested after being summoned to the sentence implementation department of Naghadeh court to serve their imprisonment sentences and were subsequently transferred to the central prison of this city.
Branch 102 of Piranshahr Criminal Court 2 issued the verdict in December 2023, sentencing Diyako Ebrahimi and Ehsan Golabi to a collective imprisonment of 14 years. They faced charges such as "membership in the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan" (5 years), "conspiracy against national security" (5 years), "propaganda against the government" (1 year), and "filming government premises" (3 years), with the harshest punishment being 5 years of incarceration.
Furthermore, Ismail Tajalla, Aram Khaledinasab, and Alireza Mohammadi Arshad received a combined sentence of 6 years and 11 months in prison. Their charges encompassed "membership in the Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan" (32 months), "conspiracy against national security" (3 years and 7 months), and "propaganda against the government" (8 months), with the severest penalty being 3 years and 7 months of imprisonment.
Hiva Mahmoudi, another defendant in this case, was sentenced to two years in prison for the charge of "conspiracy against national security."
These six residents of Pasveh village in Piranshahr County were arrested amidst the Woman, Life, Freedom (Jin, Jiyan, Azadi) movement and were temporarily released from prison on bail pending the conclusion of their trial proceedings.
