Hengaw’s special report on day 7 of the Iran-Israel war: At least 646 killed, including 560 military personnel and 86 civilians— Among them 35 women and 21 children

Based on verified information and data collected from credible field sources across Iran, Hengaw Organization for Human Rights confirms that at least 646 people have been killed during the first seven days of direct conflict between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the State of Israel. Among the dead are 86 civilians and 560 military and security personnel, including members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), other armed forces, and affiliated technical and specialist staff.
Hengaw has also documented the deaths of at least 35 women and 21 children among the civilian victims. Notably, 85% of civilian deaths were recorded in Tehran Province.
86 civilian deaths in the first week
According to statistics compiled by Hengaw’s Center for Statistics and Documentation, at least 86 civilians have been killed in Israeli airstrikes over the past seven days. The identities of 83 victims have been verified as of the time of this report. Among them are 35 women and 21 children, and one of the victims was a citizen of Afghanistan.
Hengaw’s investigations further reveal that at least 26 of those killed were family members of senior IRGC officials or staff.

At least 21 children killed
Hengaw confirms that at least 21 children were killed in Israeli strikes targeting the provinces of Tehran and Isfahan. Among the victims were 11 girls and 10 boys. Two of the children were infants aged 2 and 7 months, and the oldest was 17 years old.
Seventeen of these children were killed in Tehran, and four in Isfahan.

35 women killed, including two IRGC members
As of the time of this report, Hengaw has confirmed the identities of 35 women killed in the conflict. All were killed in Tehran and Isfahan provinces. Among them, Fatemeh Bagheri and Elham Farahmand were members of the IRGC. The other 33 women were civilians.
560 military personnel killed across Iran
Since the early hours of Friday, June 14, 2025, when Israel began direct air and missile strikes on Iranian territory, the number of military fatalities has risen sharply. Based on field data and documentation gathered by Hengaw, at least 560 members of Iran’s military, IRGC, police, Basij militia, as well as nuclear scientists and elite technical staff, have been killed.
Hengaw has so far verified the full identities of 211 of those killed. The highest numbers of military casualties have been recorded in the provinces of Tehran, East Azerbaijan, Kermanshah, Qom, and Isfahan.

In Tehran Province, which has been the primary target of Israeli attacks, at least 235 military personnel have been killed. Hengaw has confirmed the identities of 61 of them, including 10 senior IRGC commanders, 11 nuclear scientists, and 2 elite government-affiliated individuals connected to the IRGC.
Urgent appeal for civilian protection and international accountability
The Hengaw Organization for Human Rights strongly condemns the killing of civilians and the escalation of hostilities between Iran and Israel. The organization urges the international community and human rights institutions not to lose sight of the worsening human rights situation in Iran amid the fast-moving developments of war.
Hengaw calls for immediate and coordinated global action to protect civilians, particularly women and children, and stresses the need for all actors to uphold their responsibilities under international humanitarian and human rights law to prevent further suffering and loss of life.
