Hengaw Report No. 4 on the Iran-Israel War: At least 698 killed, including 600 military personnel and 98 civilians — among them 38 women and 26 children

According to verified data collected from credible field sources across Iran, the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights confirms that in the first nine days of the direct military conflict between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Israel, at least 698 people have been killed. This figure includes 600 members of the Iranian military and security apparatus, and 98 civilians.
Among the civilian casualties, at least 36 were women and 26 were children. Notably, 77% of the civilian deaths occurred in Tehran Province.
98 civilian killed in the first nine days of war
According to data recorded by Hengaw’s Statistics and Documentation Center, at least 98 civilians have been killed as a result of Israeli airstrikes. The identities of 95 victims have so far been verified. The casualties include 36 women and 26 children.
One of the victims was from Afghanistan, and another was killed in Andimeshk by anti-aircraft fire from Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
At least 28 of the civilians killed were close relatives of high-ranking IRGC members and affiliates.

At least 26 children killed
Hengaw confirms that 26 children, equally split between 13 girls and 13 boys, have lost their lives during the Israeli strikes. The youngest were just 2 and 7 months old, while the oldest was 17.

38 women killed, including two IRGC members
Hengaw has verified the identities of 38 women who were killed, of whom 35 were in Tehran, 2 in Isfahan, and 1 in Khuzestan. Among them, Fatemeh Bagheri and Elham Farahmand were members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps; the remaining 36 were civilians.
600 military personnel killed nationwide
Since the early hours of Friday, June 14, 2025, when Israel launched direct aerial strikes and missile attacks against IRGC and military targets in Iran, the death toll among military forces has risen sharply.
According to Hengaw’s field data, at least 600 military-affiliated personnel have been killed, including members of the Army, IRGC, Law Enforcement Command (NAJA), Basij militia, nuclear scientists, and technical or intelligence operatives.
Hengaw has so far confirmed the identities of 243 of those killed.

In Tehran Province, the epicenter of the Israeli strikes, 235 military personnel have been killed. Hengaw has confirmed the identities of 70, including 10 senior IRGC commanders, 12 nuclear scientists, and 2 elite government operatives affiliated with the IRGC.
Hengaw Organization for Human Rights strongly condemns the civilian casualties and the intensification of hostilities between Iran and Israel. The organization calls on the international community and human rights bodies to urgently intervene and ensure the protection of civilians, especially women and children, amid the escalating conflict.
