Death sentence of prisoner carried out in Shiraz Central Prison

Amrollah Dehghan, a 39-year-old Lor prisoner from Kovar in Fars Province, was executed in Shiraz Central Prison following his conviction for “premeditated murder.”

According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Dehghan was executed at dawn on Wednesday, November 20, 2024.

He had been arrested five years ago on charges of murder of two brothers in a farmland. The judiciary of Islamic Republic of Iran subsequently sentenced him to two death penalties (qisas).

To date, the execution has not been disclosed by official state media or outlets affiliated with the judiciary.
