Femicide: Two sisters brutally murdered in Miandoab

A man in Miandoab murdered his fiancée and her sister, Mahdis Jeddiyat and Hadiseh Jeddiyat, and injured another individual. The perpetrator reportedly stabbed them due to Mahdis's decision to separate and request a divorce.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on Thursday, December 5, 2024, a man attacked and fatally stabbed his 19-year-old fiancée, Mahdis Jeddiyat, and her 17-year-old sister, Hadiseh Jeddiyat, on Janbaz Street in Miandoab. He then fled the scene. Another individual was injured during this incident.

Sources informed Hengaw that the assailant was arrested within hours of fleeing and is now in custody. His motive for killing the sisters was reportedly Mahdis's request to separate from him.
