Three prisoners hanged in Tabriz and Qazvin Prisons

The death sentences of two Turks, Habib Pournaghi, and Sadegh Johari, along with another prisoner identified as Karim Oladi, were carried out in the central prisons of Qazvin and Tabriz. The individuals had been convicted of drug-related offenses and “premeditated murder.”
According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Habib Pournaghi, 52 years old and a resident of Tabriz, was executed at dawn on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, in Tabriz Central Prison. He had been sentenced to death five years ago for charges of “premeditated murder.”
Previously, on Sunday, December 22, 2024, the death sentences of Sadegh Johari, 60 years old and a resident of Tabriz, and Karim Oladi, 35 years old, were carried out in the Central Prison of Qazvin.
According to informed sources, Sadegh Johari had been arrested five years ago and Karim Oladi three years ago on separate drug-related charges. Both were subsequently sentenced to death by the judiciary.
As of the time of this report, the executions have not been announced by state-affiliated media or outlets connected to the judiciary.
