Arrests of Kurds by security forces persist

Amid the ongoing wave of arrests targeting Kurds, Aram Mohammadi, a resident of the village of Pasveh near Piranshahr, was detained by forces from the Intelligence Department.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Mr. Mohammadi was arrested during a raid on his home in the early hours of Friday, December 27, 2024. 

Intelligence agents entered the home without presenting a search warrant, used excessive force during the arrest, and detained him in the presence of his two children. He was subsequently transferred to an undisclosed location.

As of this report, no information has been provided regarding the reasons for Mr. Mohammadi’s arrest, the charges against him, or his current whereabouts.
