Javanroud: Seven Kurds, including a minor, arrested by Security Forces

Seven Kurds from Javanroud, including a 17-year-old minor, were violently arrested by the security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The identities of the detainees have been confirmed as Omid Khaki, Soleiman Naqdi, Yasin Mahmoudi, Mokhtar Babajani, Yasin Ramazani, Keyhan Allah Moradi, and a child named Mohammad Mahmoudi.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the arrests took place on the evening of Saturday, December 28, 2024, in the “Posht Bimarestan” neighborhood of Javanroud. The detainees, including Mohammad Mahmoudi (17), Yasin Ramazani (29), Yasin Mahmoudi (31), Omid Khaki (34), Soleiman Naqdi (35), Mokhtar Babajani, and Keyhan Allah Moradi (both approximately 35), all reportedly married were arrested during a raid.

Witnesses report that the arrests were carried out during a violent attack by security forces, during which some of the individuals sustained injuries from physical altercations.

According to informed sources, the arrests were allegedly linked to claims of “association with radical religious groups.”

After their detention, Omid Khaki, Soleiman Naqdi, Yasin Mahmoudi, Mokhtar Babajani, Mohammad Mahmoudi, Yasin Ramazani, and Keyhan Allah Moradi were transferred to the Kermanshah “Meydan-e-Naft” Detention Center (Intelligence Detention Facility). They have since been denied access to communication and visits.

Efforts by family members to obtain information about the detainees over the past five days have been unsuccessful. The violent nature of the arrests and reports of beatings have raised serious concerns about their health and well-being.
