Five prisoners executed in Shiraz, Ilam, Ahvaz, Nishapur, and Khorramabad prisons

The death sentences of five prisoners—identified as Amir Hamzeh Shahouzehi, Mahyar Afrashteh, Sajjad Shokri, Milad Forouzandeh, and Farshad Sanaei—were carried out in the prisons of Shiraz, Ilam, Ahvaz, Nishapur, and Khorramabad. They had previously been convicted on charges of murder and drug-related offenses.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, Amir Hamzeh Shahouzehi, a Baloch prisoner from Zahedan, was executed in Adelabad Prison in Shiraz. He had been arrested five years ago on drug-related charges and later sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.

On the same day, Mahyar Afrashteh, a Kurdish prisoner convicted of murder, was executed in Ilam Central Prison.

Earlier, on Monday, October 20, 2025, Sajjad Shokri was executed in Sepidar Prison in Ahvaz after being convicted of murder.

At dawn on Sunday, October 19, 2025, Milad Forouzandeh, aged 27 and from Nishapur, was executed in Nishapur Central Prison. He had been arrested five years earlier for murder during a street altercation.

Additionally, on Saturday, October 18, 2025, Farshad Sanaei, aged 43, a Lor prisoner from Dorud, Lorestan Province, was executed in Khorramabad Central Prison. He had been arrested five years ago on murder charges related to a financial dispute.

Iranian state media, including judiciary-affiliated outlets, have not reported these executions.
