Hengaw: The death sentence of two Kurdish citizens who were sentenced to death for drug trafficking crimes Has been carried out in Urmia Central Prison.

According to a report received by Hengaw Human Rights Organization, on the morning of Saturday, July 3, 2021, two Kurdish citizens, identified as “Shahriyar Amiri” from Oshnaviyeh and “Nasser Azmoudeh” from Urmia, were executed on charges of drug trafficking.

According to a source close to Shahriar Amiri's family, he was 42 years old and was arrested three years ago, and did not participate in any of the cases that led to his death sentence.  It is worth mentioning that Shahriar's father has also been sentenced to death and is currently being held in Urmia Central Prison.
