Political prisoner Hossein Molaei sentenced to 15 years

The Iranian judiciary has sentenced Hossein Molaei, a 50-year-old political prisoner held at Greater Tehran Central Penitentiary (Fashafouyeh Prison), to 15 years in prison. He was arrested in March 2026.
Based on information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Branch 29 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court recently sentenced Molaei to 15 years in prison on the charge of “supporting Israel.”
Iranian security forces arrested Molaei in March 2026. Following interrogation, he was transferred to Greater Tehran Central Penitentiary, where he remains held.
Due to financial hardship, Molaei was unable to afford a lawyer of his choosing and was deprived of effective legal representation throughout the proceedings.
