During the first three months of 2023, at least 48 Kurdish prisoners were executed in Iranian prisons, three of whom were political prisoners, and this figure has increased by 270% compared to the same period last year.

Based on the statistics registered in the Statistics and Documents Center of Hengaw, during the first three months of 2023 (January, February, and March), at least 48 Kurdish prisoners have been executed in the Iranian prisons in Kurdistan and other Iranian cities.  This statistic is equivalent to 34% of the total number of executions that have been carried out in entire Iran during the last three months.

This statistic has increased by 270% compared to the same period last year when 13 Kurdish prisoners were executed.  Hengaw believes that the Iranian government has increased the execution of Kurdish citizens, especially in the prisons of the central cities of Iran, to create terror and revenge on Kurdistan due to the recent” Jina revolution”.

It should be mentioned that in the past three months, the death sentence of three Kurdish prisoners named Seyyed Mohammad Karmi from Bijar, Sarkawt Ahmadi from Ravansar, and Muhyaddin Ebrahimi from Oshnaviyeh have been carried out in the prisons of Karaj, Kermanshah, and Urmia.

During this period, at least 10 Kurdish prisoners have been executed in Karaj prisons.  Also, four Kurdish prisoners were executed in Arak, and two prisoners in Hamadan and Bandar Abbas prisons.
