The death penalty imposed on Daryush Rahimi, a prisoner previously convicted of killing a member of “Special Tactics Unit," was executed at Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad.
The reports obtained by the Hengaw organization for Human Rights, indicates the execution of 33-year-old Daryush Rahimi took place in the early hours of Sunday, June 11, 2023, at Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad. However, specific details regarding his case remained undisclosed.
Government-affiliated media outlets have alleged that Mr. Rahimi was arrested in 2021 accused of the murder of Ehsan Paykhesteh, a member of the “Special Tactics Unit" in the city of Mashhad.
Daryush Rahimi received the death sentence from the Fifth Branch of a Criminal Court in Khorasan Razavi Province, and the verdict was subsequently upheld by the Supreme Court.
