Three prisoners executed in Shiraz and Khorramabad

Iranian authorities executed three prisoners in Shiraz and Khorramabad prisons, including two Lor men and one Kurdish man identified as Hassan Safarian, Isa Mortazavi, and Mehdi Jouziani. The men had been convicted on charges of premeditated murder and drug-related offenses. 

According to information received by Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, Safarian, a resident of the village of Korouni in Shiraz County, was executed at Adelabad Prison in Shiraz on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. He had been arrested on murder charges and sentenced to death by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran. 

On Monday, August 11, 2025, Mortazavi, aged 36 and from Aligudarz in Lorestan Province, was executed in Khorramabad Central Prison. He had been detained for four years before being sentenced to death on murder charges. 

Earlier, on Sunday, August 3, 2025, Jouziani, from Delfan in Lorestan Province, was executed in Khorramabad Central Prison. He had also been in detention for nearly four years on murder charges before being sentenced to death by the judiciary. 

State media and judiciary-affiliated outlets have not reported the executions of these three prisoners.
