Five prisoners executed in Sanandaj, Yasuj, Semnan, Shiraz, and Aligudarz Prisons

The death sentences of five prisoners—identified as Majid Abedi, Samad Seyedhosseini, Milad Mohammadsalihi (Lor), Mohammadreza Moridan (Arab), and Sajad Qolizadeh (Kurd)—were carried out this week in the prisons of Semnan, Yasuj, Shiraz, Aligudarz, and Sanandaj. They had previously been convicted on charges of drug-related offenses or premeditated murder.
According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, at dawn on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, Majid Abedi, 35, was executed in Semnan Prison after three years in detention on drug-related charges. On the same day, Samad Seyedhosseini, 46, from Yasuj, was executed in Yasuj Prison after five years of imprisonment on murder charges.
In Shiraz Prison, Milad Mohammadsalihi, 32, from Kashan, was executed after four years of detention on murder charges. In Aligudarz Prison, Lorestan Province, Mohammadreza Moridan, from Khuzestan, was put to death on murder charges after four years in detention. Also on the same day, in Sanandaj (Sine) Prison, Kurdish prisoner Sajad Qolizadeh was executed, having been convicted of murder and imprisoned for four years.
None of these executions have been announced by Iranian state media, including judiciary-affiliated outlets.
