An incident unfolded as Hamdi Mahbuobian, a Kurdish resident of Kamyaran in Sanandaj province, suffered severe injuries and underwent a leg amputation due to a mine explosion. This adds to a string of recent mine-related incidents, with at least four Kurdish individuals affected, including one fatality, in the past three days.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights on Thursday, March 28, 2024, the mine explosion occurred while Hamdi Mahbuobian, a 48-year-old employee of the Kamyaran Telecommunications Office, was on duty at his workplace in Morvarid village, Kamyaran.

The explosion resulted in severe injuries and the subsequent amputation of Mahbuobian's leg. He was transferred to Kowsar Hospital in Sanandaj for urgent medical attention.

This incident adds to the growing toll of mine-related casualties in Kurdistan, as documented by the Statistics and Documents Center of the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, which reports one fatality and three injuries over the past three days across three different cities.
