The death sentence of inmate Hassanali Mirzania, a resident of Aleshtar city in Lorestan province, was executed at Khorramabad Central Prison. He had previously been sentenced to death for "homicide." The execution took place during the month of Ramadan and without the right to a final family visit.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the execution of 30-year-old Hassanali Mirzania without the right to a final family visit was carried out in Khorramabad Central Prison (Parsilon) on the morning of Friday, April 5, 2024.

Hassanali Mirzania was arrested several years ago on charges of "premeditated murder" for shooting and killing two brothers and was later sentenced to death by the judicial authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to a source close to the defendant’s family, there was no intent to kill these two brothers; Hassanali mistakenly shot them.

The news of this inmate's execution has not been announced by government media, especially media close to the judiciary, at the time of this report's preparation.
