Young Kurdish Kolbar fatally shot by Iranian Border Guards

Hazhir Mahmoudpour, a young Kolbar from Javanrud, was fatally shot by Iranian Border Guards at the Nowsud border in Kermanshah province.

According to a report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on the morning of Wednesday, June 5, 2024, a young Kolbar from the village of Powineh in Javanrud succumbed to his injuries at Quds Hospital in Paveh.

An informed source stated that Hazhir Mahmoudpour sustained serious injuries from direct fire by Iranian Border Guards in the Nowsud border heights last evening and was subsequently transported to medical centers for treatment.

Yesterday, a Kolbar identified as Salah (surname unknown) was seriously injured by direct fire from Iranian Border Guards at a border point in Marivan. He is a resident of the village of Halozhan, Sarvabad.

Based on the statistics registered in the statistics and documents center of Hengaw, in May 2024, at least eight Kurdish Kolbars and local traders were killed by direct fire from Iranian Border Guards.
