Young Kurdish Kolbar Mohammad Rahimi killed by Iranian Border Guards in Nowsud

Mohammad Rahimi, a young Kurdish Kolbar from Paveh in Kermanshah Province, was fatally shot by Iran's border guards in the Doroleh border region near Nowsud.

According to information received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, the incident occurred early Sunday morning, May 25, 2025, when Rahimi—originally from Banevreh, a town in Paveh County—was targeted and killed by direct fire from border forces while working as a Kolbar.

Hengaw has learned that Rahimi was married and the father of a young child. His body was transferred to the Paveh forensic medical office but has not yet been released to his family.
