Kurdish Kolbar killed by Iranian Border Guards in Marivan

Arman Rayzan, a Kurdish Kolbar from Marivan, was shot and killed by direct gunfire from the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Border Guards. He had previously earned medals in athletics competitions in both Iran and Iraq.
According to reports received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, in the early hours of Saturday, May 10, 2025, Arman Rayzan, aged 32, father of two children and a resident of Gurjeh village, near Marivan, was killed by direct fire from border guards.
He was carrying goods as part of a Kolbar caravan in the Doploreh border area of Marivan when he was targeted. His body was later transferred to Marivan Hospital.
Arman Rayzan had a background in athletics, specifically track and field, and had earned accolades at national and regional levels in both Iran and Iraq.
