Kurdish Kolbar fatally shot by Iranian Armed forces

Arkan Balwaseh, a young Kolbar from Marivan, was fatally shot by Iranian Border Guards in the Tehteh mountain area of Saravabad, Kurdistan Province. Additionally, another Kolbar, identified as Dana, sustained injuries in the incident.

According to the report received by the Hengaw Organization for Human Rights, on the evening of Thursday, June 20, 2024, Arkan Balwaseh, a 29-year-old resident of Jalileh village in Marivan, was fatally shot by Iranian Border Guards stationed at the Tehteh border.

He was directly shot by these forces while he was not carrying any goods.  

Following his transfer to Marivan Hospital, Arkan Balwaseh's body was buried in his native village of Jalileh. Simultaneously, another Kolbar, named Dana (family name unknown) and also from Jalileh village, sustained injuries from the same incident involving direct fire from the Iranian Border Guards.
